Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to a new season at Galgate Football Club. It is lovely to welcome back many of our players and families. We would like to extend that welcome to everyone who is joining us for their first season with the club.
Over the last few seasons, we have been very proud to see our youth teams grow, and this season will see us with 6 teams of children playing for Galgate from under 7s through to under 15s. A huge thank you to our dedicated managers and coaches, who, as volunteers, give up their time for training and matches over the year, as well as all of the volunteers on and off the pitch who work hard to keep the club going and keep our children enjoying playing football.
With our club growing in size again this season, it would be great to expand our numbers of volunteers to help in all areas of the club, this could be helping to set up equipment before and after matches and training, helping to run our club shop on match days or helping to maintain the pitches. If you can offer some time to help in any way, please do contact your team manager. Any time that you can offer, no matter how little, will be greatly appreciated and will help the club to keep running.
Below, you will find the names and contact details of the youth managers and coaches for each team, and the youth welfare officers, should you need to get in touch about anything. Along with this letter, please find and read the FA Respect Code of Conduct for players and parents and spectators that we follow at Galgate. It is important that you read and share this with your child / children and that the Codes of Conduct are always followed. The player Code of Conduct will be shared with the children at the start of the new season. These can also be found displayed in the Clubhouse.
Information about matches and training
The main communication for each team playing in matches is either through the Heja app or via the team’s WhatsApp group, where you will find details of all practices and games and any other important information that needs to be shared. It is also important to let the team coaches know if you can attend sessions or not via Heja or the WhatsApp group so that they can prepare for sessions. It is important to let either the manager or coach know if you are not collecting your child at the end of the session so that we know who they are going home with and can keep your child / children safe. If your child has permission to walk home after training or matches, please let one of us know.
As well as our code of conduct, it is important that your child / children attend training and matches with the appropriate kit, football boots, shin pads, coat and layers in bad weather, sun cream in warm weather and a drink to keep well hydrated.
To ensure that we are keeping all of the children in our care safe, we ask that younger and older siblings do not join in with training sessions and that families and siblings remain behind the barriers. We would really appreciate your support with this as we are not insured for children other than those registered to the club if there is an accident and our priority is to keep all of our children at our club safe.
Team Managers and Coaches
All our coaches are DBS cleared and have completed the FA Safeguarding Children in football course.
We do have a requirement to fill a few more roles within the club and anyone willing to help on the committee will be offered a discount or a free place for their child as a token of the club’s appreciation.

Subscriptions:
In order to run the club effectively, we ask for a subscription fee, which covers costs of training (including winter training) and equipment, match day kits and referee fees, maintaining the pitches through buying seed, paint to line the pitches, fuel for the vehicles (e.g. the tractor) and helps us organise club events.
The subscription fee for this season for our youth teams is £200 for the season for children training and playing matches. It is £100 for children who are training only.
Subscriptions can either be paid for as one payment before the season opening game in September or 2 payments, with the first in September and the second no later than February 2027.
There is a button at the end of this letter which will allow you to pay your subscriptions by card.
